Green Business Program

GreenMountain is proud to be a certified Green Business in San Francisco. The Green Business Program recognizes local businesses that adopt and maintain environmentally responsible practices.

 

 

Engineers Without Borders

Several GreenMountain Engineers are active in the local chapters of Engineers Without Borders, an organization that partners with developing communities to improve quality of life through the implementation of sustainable engineering projects. Tyler Palmer, David Youmans, Tyler Williams, Max Davis and Keith Gazda are all active in the San Francisco Professionals chapter, with David also serving as chapter President and Tyler Palmer as the Northern California regional representative.

Recent projects they have worked on include installing a hybrid photovoltaic system for a rural village in Haiti, assisting a community in Tanzania with building a health dispensery, and designing a cook stove for use in Darfur. EWB aims to help developing areas worldwide with their engineering needs, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers.

 

California Clean Tech Open

Tyler Palmer served as a mentor for startup companies competing in the 2006 and 2007 California Clean Tech Open. Last year he advised a team on how to test and analyze their technology as well as how to improve their business plan, grow their team, form partnerships and prepare to meet Venture Capitalists.

 

San Francisco Clean Technology Advisory Council

The Clean Technology Advisory Council was established "to position San Francisco as a global leader in the development, creation and use of clean technology." Council members are some of the foremost industry leaders in clean technology including Tyler Palmer, Founder and President of GreenMountain Engineering.
