SolFocus, a venture-funded concentrating solar photovoltaics startup, needed to develop a solar tracker controller meeting strict accuracy requirements for their first-generation high-concentration PV module.

GreenMountain designed to specification a two-axis controller based on a mix of off-the-shelf and custom electronics, with custom embedded software. We built, calibrated and verified the accuracy of a proof-of-concept prototype at our rooftop solar testing lab in San Francisco, then delivered multiple copies of the controller and full source code and schematics to SolFocus.

With the addition of an accurate tracker controller, SolFocus was able to remove a significant barrier to their module development process and move their core technology forward smoothly to the next phase of development.
